George Miedecke and Rylan Gray made a stunning comeback to clinch victory in the second race of Round 2 of Monochrome GT4 Australia at The Bend, piloting the Miedecke Motorsport Lubrimaxx Ford Mustang GT4. After a disqualification in the previous race, they led from start to finish, marking the Mustang’s third win of the season.
Gray started strong, taking the lead at Turn 1 and withstanding challenges from reigning series champion Shane Smollen in a Method Motorsport Porsche and Tom Hayman in a McLaren Artura GT4. The race was briefly halted when Vince Gucciardo spun and hit the wall, but resumed with 40 minutes remaining. Gray and Smollen pulled away from the pack, including Tim Leahey in a BMW M4 GT4.
With a 3.2-second lead, Gray pitted first, passing the Mustang to Miedecke. Post-pit stops, Miedecke held a substantial lead, ultimately winning by 11 seconds over the Method Motorsport McLarens. The victory secured the outright and Silver Cup win for Miedecke and Gray, highlighting a successful weekend for Miedecke Motorsport.
